A$AP Rocky is officially done playing nice. In a candid sit-down with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden that aired Wednesday, the Harlem fashion icon and rapper dismantled the mystery surrounding his fractured relationship with Drake, branding the OVO mogul’s behavior as “soft” for his persistent fixation on Rihanna.
While the rap world has spent years dissecting subliminal shots and social media snubs, Rocky clarified that while the tension hasn’t escalated to physical violence, the bridge is well and truly burned. “This thing between us, it’s not real smoke,” Rocky admitted, using a wrestling analogy to describe the industry’s penchant for drama. “But I just don’t f**k with him.”
The “Nut Graph” here is simple: this isn’t a battle for lyrical supremacy, but a personal fallout rooted in a shared history with the world’s most famous mogul, Rihanna. Drake’s decade-long on-and-off history with the singer has seemingly translated into a grudge against the man who eventually built a family with her.
“We were once friends,” Rocky said, pinpointing the catalyst for the divide. He believes the fallout is “over females.” The rapper, now a father of three, suggested that Drake’s inability to move on from the past is a sign of immaturity.
“I feel like he wasn’t happy and he expressed that,” Rocky explained. “And I think at some certain point when everybody gettin’ older and it’s just like, you’re supposed to be moving on. For you to still be pickin’ at a female and all that, that’s soft to me.”
The timing is particularly pointed. Rocky just released his long-awaited album, Don’t Be Dumb, which includes the track “Stole Ya Flow”—a song many fans believe finally addresses Drake’s years of subliminals.
Until now, Rocky has remained largely silent, focusing on his growing family. He and Rihanna recently welcomed their third child, daughter Rocki, in September 2025, joining sons RZA and Riot.
“I didn’t put out an album, I didn’t put out music for me to really say something back,” Rocky noted, explaining his previous silence. With the record finally out, Rocky seems content to leave the “petty” drama behind, emphasizing that there is enough fame and success to go around without clinging to decade-old romantic disappointments.
